Useful troubleshooting steps for resolution of Outlook issues.

Outlook does not open, settings or add-ins causing conflicts, display issues.

Starting Outlook in "safe mode".
1. Close Outlook.
2. Open "Run" from the Start Menu"
3. Execute "Outlook.exe /safe"
-Outlook should now open in Safe Mode.

Outlook elements out of screen, displaying improperly, missing, etc...

1. Close Outlook.
2. Open "Run" from the Start Menu"
3. Execute "Outlook.exe /resetnavpane"

User reports e-mail synchronization issue within Outlook

Disable Cache Mode in Outlook.
1. Click on “File”, selecting “Account Settings” and then “Account Settings” again.
2. Double-click on your e-mail address in the new window.
3. Uncheck “Cache Mode” and click Apply / OK
-You will be prompted to restart Outlook

How to add a Shared Mailbox (Method 1)

Select “File”, then Account Settings, and Account Settings again.
Double click on your e-mail address in the subsequent window
Select “More Settings …” in the bottom right corner
Click on the “Advanced” tab
From here, you should be able to click “Add”, paste in the address indicated.
Select “Ok”, “Ok”, and then “Next” (or “Finish” depending on which is presented).

How to add a Shared Mailbox (Method 2)

1.Click on File
2.Under the Info header, click on the Account Settings button and then on the Account Settings tab
3.Select Name and Click on the Change button
4.Click the More Settings button
5.Click on the Advanced tab and then click on Add
6.In the Add Mailbox box, type name of mailbox above
7.Click on Apply and then on OK. Outlook will now be busy accessing the other mailbox’s data, so this may take a while
8.Back on the Change Account window, click on Next and then on Finish
9.Close the Account Settings window
10.Close Outlook and open it up again.
